Automated External Defibrillators
(AED) available at Al Mouj Muscat
AEDs, or automated external defibrillators, are small electronic devices designed to provide lifesaving defibrillation (electric shock to the heart) to victims of sudden cardiac arrest. This is a life-saving device which can be used to stabilise a patient until the ambulance service arrives.
We hope you will never need use of a AED, but if a cardiac emergency strikes a resident or a visitor at Al Mouj Muscat, our community liaison team is equipped with AED devices to respond while waiting for an ambulance to arrive.
The device, which is supplied from the British Heart Foundation, is deployed when someone is not responsive and/ or not breathing, and their heart has stopped working due to a cardiac arrest. The most important thing is to call emergency services and start CPR.
Our community liaison (security) team is trained to use AED devices and they can be contacted on 9139 3639 (Control Room) or 9139 3640 (Community Liaison Supervisor).
